Since teleportation is out of the question,  cloning could potentially work….

Now, that is just something you do not want to hear your children say to you.  However, “lucky me” heard those exact words come out of one of my children last night.

It took me a minute to grasp what was being said to me…  “What do you mean you peed on my pillow!  And, you are laughing about it!!!!!!”    The day was not going to end well for said child.   I stormed into my bedroom to see the “christened” pillow and sure enough there was a large wet spot right in the middle and my husband is just lying there grinning at me!

Of course, there was no pee it was just damp from wet hair.

I wish I could say that I knew that all along, but then I’d be lying….

I can be so gullible!

I have been reading, or listening to,  a lot of books lately that have characters who can teleport themselves.  Granted, they are all vampires, wizards, shifters, or something that has supernatural capabilites.  But come on!!!  Why can’t an average “Supermom” get an awesome talent like that???  I would promise not to abuse my power or hurt others with it! :)

The basis for my little tirade is that I am trying to figure out how to get from my daughter’s dance class to my son’s football practice, which is 50 minutes away, when I only have 30 minutes to do so!

Such is the life of a Supermom!

A conversation that my 6 year old daughter and I have on a regular basis…

Daughter:    Can I have chocolate bar?

Me:    No.  Have something healthy instead.  It is better for you.

Daughter:    You always say that!

Me:  Yes, because it is true.  Why do you always want to eat junk?

Daughter:  It’s just the way I’m made!

Well, if I would have known that, I would have eaten a lot more junk when I was pregnant with her!

Yummy Yummy Yarn :0)

This morning was wonderful!  I went to ‘yarn heaven’ at the Knitter’s Frolic Marketplace.  I drank my fill, smooshed LOTS of yarn and shopped! I said ‘Hi’ to Meghan and Claire from Pick Up Sticks – always a pleasure!  I also got to meet Emily from Viola, what a treat for me – hopefully, for her too :)

Ok, so here is 411 on what I picked up today – in no particular order because I love it all…

  1. Handmaiden Calmelspin in Dragonfly – 1 skein
  2. Viola Silky DK in Violet – 2 skeins
  3. Viola M/C/N Sport in Raven – 2 skeins
  4. Tanis Fibre Arts Purple Label in Plum – 1 Skein
  5. BMFA Socks that Rock LW in Bejewelled – 1 Skein
  6. BMFA Socks that Rock MW in Bleeding Hearts – 1 Skein
  7. BMFA Socks that Rock  MW in Alley-oop – 1 Skein
  8. BMFA Socks that Rock MW in Faulty Dyer – 1 Skein
  9. Spud & Chloe Outer in Rocket - 4 Skeins
  10. BMFA Socks that Rock  HW in Pirate’s Booty – 1 Skein

I can hardly ever (or NEVER) resist a beautiful yarn that has some form of PURPLE in it!  It is like one of those “good for you” diseases.  You know, the kind that makes you eat chocolate or you will grow a huge wart on the end of you nose! :)

Etta Cowl Pattern

My first published design…

Etta Cowl

I designed this cowl to compliment a hat that I made my aunt.  It turned out so well, that a friend asked me to make one for her also.  So, the pattern was written and became worthy of sharing!

Happy Knitting!

The pattern is available as a FREE Ravelry Download.  Check it out!

I use them for pretty much all my workouts from running to kettlebells to dancing, etc. I purchased 3 pair so I can make sure I always have a clean pair reday for whatever I choose to do! Off to hoc!

We are taking our son to HOC today! He is so excited, but I am freaking out a little. He has never been away from home for more than one night. I asked my husband if I was over-protective and he said a little. I am not sure if he really meant a little or if he just said that not to make me even more freaked out! LOL!

Winding Yarn Mishap

Today I got a yarn winder and reeling machine.  I thought it would be great to have these items at home, so I can wind my own yarn when I am ready to use it.  At my local yarn shop, I  have seen this done many times, however, never gave it a try myself.  Well, I should have paid more attention or asked a few questions before attempting this at home.  I feel a big warning sign that says “DON’T TRY THIS WITHOUT ADULT SUPERVISION” should have been included.

  Wait…I am an adult…

I should also not have attempted this with Tanis Fibre Arts Cashmere Yarn!  Not my brightest moment – all Tanis fans out there will understand!  I should have used yarn that is no where near as luxurious!

Overall Shorts Completed

My knitted overall shorts are completed and they are adorable – not shameful!  More info and pics to come!
